An enchanted castle, a self-absorbed rich boy, a painful curse, and the quiet heart of a beautiful girl...

Can a monster fall in love?

Love Sworn is a modern day retelling of the classic story, Beauty and the Beast, with a werewolf twist.

Adelle is trapped by a man, a monster, with a serious attitude problem. Her only comfort comes from the furry, scaly, and feathered household help, and her unexpected friendship with a white wolf named Max.

Dmitri is trapped by a curse and now by a girl. One way or another, he has to find freedom.

Love Sworn eBook Tess Williams

I just love this book so much! I never get tired of re-reading it. It should really annoy me like crazy, because I can't stand poor editing, or general poor grammar to begin with, and this book is riddled with errors, but it just doesn't seem to bother me.
There are some very obvious grammatical errors, and spelling mistakes, and incorrect use of tense, not to mention some of the weird phrases employed throughout the book, but such a quirky, sweet story is definitely worth putting up with any amount of aberrations.
The characters are very real, very 3D, and extremely like-able. The story is an interesting take on Beauty and the Beast, which will appeal to readers of all ages, and has a satisfying ending. The conclusion was a little rushed, but the few pages of Adelle's diary (and Dmitri's 'corrections') which we are privileged to see as a sort of epilogue, absolutely made up for anything lacking in that regard.
Those pages are perhaps the sweetest aspect of the entire book. They give a lovely insight into Adelle and Dmitri's beautiful relationship. I cry, laugh, and exclaim over them every time I read them, without fail.
An author's job is to get people to feel, to connect with their characters, and Tess Williams succeeds spectacularly with this book. The main reason I wrote this review (I don't normally bother with reviews) was to thank the author, and commend her for a thoroughly enjoyable and poignant story. This one is on my 'keepers shelf' for life!

Love Sworn eBook Tess Williams Reviews

Disclaimer This review is very similar to another one I just wrote because, hey, it's Beauty and the Beast. We know how it starts, we know how it ends. It's the getting there that's the fun part.

So, in my search for new werewolf novels (my favorite genre) to read, I discovered that Beauty and the Beast came up with werewolves in it.

Well, this is a fun book. A riveting book. The characters, including and especially the supporting cast, were amazing. Tight plot, great dialogue. I will admit I really hated Dmitri at the beginning, but I guess you're supposed to. And I even got to experience the story without that awful "Be My Guest" song in my head.

And like I said, it has the best epilogue ever,

***Spoiler Alert***

In these paranormal books (and romance books I suppose, which I don't read) one person almost always pushes away the other one because they think that they will ruin the other's life if they stay. Huh? They already love you - you're ruining their life by pushing them away. Seriously, I don't think this happens in real life. You find someone you love and who loves you - you hold on to them and never let them go (unless they want to go, which would suck, but you know the whole "if you love someone, let them go" thing). It's also guys who usually do this. I have never encountered this in real life. Guys, give it a rest - they're loving you IN SPITE of your flaws - or maybe for them. I just hope my wife doesn't consider me a Beast!
I love this book! I was bawling my eyes out when he told her that he didn't want her! I was like was what a lose! You can do so much better than him Girlfriend! But when he confessed his love for her I was crying again. Such a good twist in the end! I was in love with this book from the start! The idea and characters are amazing! This is now up there with my favorite books! I think this book is up there with Twlight! LOVE IT!!!
I know there are people out there who like pointing out spelling and gramatical errors but I'm not one of them. I can't spell to save my life and my gramar isn't all that impressive. Keep that in mind, it has to be pretty bad for me to notice. That being said the gramar in this book is so bad I had a hard time understanding what the author was trying to say. Did she grow up speaking another language? Was this self published?

Here are a few quotes (I don't think they are SPOILERS but be warned)

"It brought my head up and shook me clear of the rapidly irrationalizing thoughts."

"I could literally feel him standing beside me; that half of my body had shivers running through it."

"My features dropped low as I studied it"

"When he didn't answer, I darkened my expression further."

"I shouted one more time as I wrapped the edge into the room."

"He narrowed in thought."

Those last two come up A LOT. They seem to wrap walls rather than turning corners, which is an odd way to phrase it but I suppose creative. And the characters are described as narrowing multiple times each chapter. Not narrowing their eyes, or narrowing their brows, just narrowing. This not only makes no sense but also proves the author doesn't own a thesaurus.

The plot is predictable and the characters are unappealing (at least to me).

All that being said what do you expect for $0.99? It's an alright read but if you're the type of person who is distracted by bad writing I'd steer clear.
I like this book simply because it was beauty and the beast, but it was enough of its own story that it distracted me a little. Like the explanation of what happened to his parents and his school life. The almost tragic ending with Gaston..... I mean Jake. Glad that hadn't panned out... Anyways it was a very well written retelling of the book.
Sorry about not being able to write a proper review. typing isn't so easy, and I didn't want to give anything away. Read the sample first because if your aren't pulled in from that first bit then it might not be worth it to you. I read the sample and immediately bought it so I could keep reading.

Love Sworn is a Beauty and the Beast retelling, and it has some fun elements, but the unprofessional and obviously self-published novel is full of inconsistencies, errors, and typos. This is evident before the novel even begins; when told to visit the ebook self-publishing company Smashwords' website, the site is misspelled as Shashwords.com. Overlooking these technical aspects, although I find the characters a bit lacking (Adelle is supposed to be intelligent but often lacks common sense, which somehow endears her to Dmitri.), the story itself is generally entertaining, and the content is clean.
